Shayla Anderson Taylor


















































1. Where are you living right now? I live in Gilbert , AZ
2. Are you married? If so, who did you marry? I married Chris Taylor in 1995.
3. Do you have any kids? If so, names and ages. My kids are Michael 11, Jacob 9, Benjamin 2, and Christopher 2 months.
4. Do you have a college degree? From where and in what? I graduated from ASU in 1995. My degree is in Secondary Education/English.
5. What do you do for a living? I teach 8th grade Language Arts.
6. How many places have you lived since graduation? Name them. I have lived in Provo , Tempe , Chandler , and Gilbert.
7. Briefly summarize any other major events that have happened in your life since graduation. Becoming a mom has been the most important thing to me. I have these great boys and I love learning and growing with them.
8. What is your favorite memory of high school? All the crazy things we did in the yellow truck: backfiring, jumping the dip off Rogers ’ Hill, etc.
9. What are some of your favorite songs from high school? I still love Reo Speedwagon, Rick Springfield, Chicago and Journey
10. Who is the teacher/class you remember most from high school? Sylvia Udall--I loved Home Arts. I still have the Beatles quilt I made, I also loved Student Council with her. Mr. Cox was always kind and good to me. I feel like we were fortunate to have many of the teachers we had.
11. If you could go back, what would you change about your high school years? I would take my learning more seriously.
12. Where do you see yourself in 5 years? 10 years? I see myself a lot like today, but I hope wiser. I still feel like I am 25 and here I am almost 38! Holy Cow the time passes so quickly.
13. What is one accomplishment since high school that you are proud of? I am proud of the work I did with my son when he needed me as his greatest teacher and advocate.
14. What is one piece of advice you would give a future graduate of SJHS? Be proud of who are and where you are from. St. Johns has been the beginning point for many great people.
15. Anything else you want to say to your former classmates? I look forward to seeing you all and getting reacquainted.
